iOSAT Potassium Iodide Tablets, 130 mg (14 Tablets) are FDA approved for thyroid blocking in the event of a radiation release from a nuclear power plant or a nuclear attack. Iosat™ Potassium Iodide (KI) tablets should be included in your family’s emergency preparedness kit. Take Potassium Iodide tablets immediately following a release of radiation from a nuclear accident or other radiation hazard. Potassium Iodide (KI) is considered to be the most effective measure available for protection of thyroid against radioactive iodine poisoning.
Each iOSAT Potassium Iodide Tablets, 130 mg (14 Tablets) package contains a strip of 14 tablets containing 130 mg of potassium iodide. These tablets are double scored to split easily and cleanly into 65 mg and 32.5 mg child doses. All IOSAT Potassium Iodide tablets are fully FDA approved for thyroid blocking in a radiation emergency.
The thyroid is the only part of the body that absorbs and stores iodine. By taking FDA Approved potassium iodide prior to exposure of radioactive iodine, you will fill up the thyroid with safe, stable iodine, stopping the thyroid’s absorption of any additional iodine (radioactive or not) long enough for the radioactive iodine inhaled or ingested to be safely dispersed through the kidneys.
